Campus Expansion

Evergreen's New Early Childhood Center

Evergreen is expanding! In April 2025, we broke ground on a brand-new, 24,000-square-foot Early Childhood Center situated just south of our existing campus buildings. When it opens in September 2026, this purpose-built facility will become the new home for our Preschool, Prekindergarten, and Kindergarten programs. The new center will be designed from the ground up to support the unique needs, rhythms, and imaginations of our youngest learners.

Neighborhood Impact
We recognize that this work continues to impact our shared neighborhood, and as the project continues, there will be additional challenges related to traffic flow and parking. On top of our regular school routines—particularly morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up—we know this creates extra activity in the area.

We want to acknowledge these impacts and assure you that we are committed to minimizing them as much as possible. Here are some of the steps we are taking:

  • Parking and Traffic Management: Some neighborhood parking will be restricted during construction. To ease this, we have reserved parking at a nearby church for about half of our employees and a portion of the construction crew.

  • Respecting Our Neighbors: We continue to educate our employees, parents, and the construction team about traffic rules and city ordinances so that mailboxes, trash cans, driveways, and intersections remain accessible. We have also created signs that will be placed in the neighborhood before school begins to help remind our community of respectful driving and parking. If you would like a sign for your home, or if you would like one near your house removed, please reach out to Kathy Baldi, our director of communications, at [email protected].

  • Encouraging Alternative Transportation: In 2024, we added two new bus routes for students and have steadily increased ridership. Each year, we also help our families arrange carpools, and provide Orca cards for our employees. New this year, we will offer shuttle service from the light rail station for both students and employees.
