ACADEMICS

Challenge
by Choice

Middle schoolers thrive when surrounded by equally curious peers and inspired by meaningful challenge. At Evergreen, students engage in deep, project-based learning that invites them to grapple with big ideas and complex issues. Whether examining environmental justice, pursuing passion projects, or prototyping solutions in the makerspace, they think critically, collaborate deeply, and take intellectual risks. Supported by expert teachers, students embrace challenges not for the grades, but for the joy of discovery and the pursuit of deeper understanding.

SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL & INDENTITY DEVELOPMENt

Be Yourself
Know Yourself

Middle school is a powerful time of identity formation. At Evergreen, students are encouraged to explore who they are—academically, socially, and emotionally—within a community that values authenticity and growth. As the oldest students in a PS–8th grade school, they lead by example while still having the freedom to be kids. Through performing arts, athletics, leadership opportunities, and open-ended learning, they uncover their strengths, express their voice, and begin to imagine who they want to become.

The Evergreen Way

Ready
for the World

The middle school journey culminates in a four-week international trip to destinations such as Vietnam or Peru. Immersed in another culture, students practice independence, adaptability, and collaboration while developing a nuanced understanding of global interconnectedness. They return with widened perspectives and a deeper sense of responsibility—ready to contribute to their communities with curiosity, empathy, and courage. This capstone experience reinforces Evergreen’s mission: to prepare students not just for the next step, but for the world beyond.
