Transportation

The Evergreen School is committed to accessibility and environmental stewardship.

As a leader in environmental sustainability and with families from over 40 ZIP codes attending Evergreen, we strive to be a good neighbor by minimizing traffic on Meridian Avenue and in the surrounding neighborhood.

We encourage carpooling and facilitate this by offering a directory to help match nearby families. Bicycling and walking are alternatives that work for some families. We also currently offer three bus options, available at additional cost.

Bus Options

1) NEW in 2024 - Zum Bus:

  • mornings and afternoons
  • grades K-8
  • west-side Seattle route (Queen Anne, Magnolia, Ballard) with potential to expand next year
  • third-party service, operates in regular yellow school buses

2) Private Evergreen Small Bus:

  • mornings only
  • grades K-8
  • operates in small mini-buses; spaces limited

3) Custom King County Metro Bus Service:

  • mornings and afternoons
  • grades 4-8
  • several routes available
  • Metro KC service on a custom route, shared with Lakeside and University Prep

Carpooling

Evergreen encourages families to carpool, especially those with students in preschool through grade 3 who are not yet old enough to use our King County Metro Custom Bus Service. Carpooling helps children get to know other Evergreen students and allows caregivers to cut down on trips to school. It also helps relieve the traffic congestion in the school drive through and benefits our environment. Our internal directory for families supports sorting by proximity, allowing families to see who lives nearby.
