Transportation

The Evergreen School is committed to accessibility and environmental stewardship

As a leader in environmental sustainability and with families from over 40 ZIP codes attending Evergreen, we strive to be a good neighbor by minimizing traffic on Meridian Avenue and in the surrounding neighborhood. We encourage carpooling and facilitate this by offering a directory to help match nearby families. Bicycling and walking are alternatives that work for some families as well. In addition, we currently offer two bus service options available at additional cost, and some students also take Link light rail to Evergreen.

Light Rail

We offer a morning shuttle to Evergreen from the Shoreline South/148th light rail station, and students take the direct Metro bus #333 in the afternoon from school back to the light rail station.

Parents/guardians may give students in 4th through 8th grade permission to take the light rail. Additionally, parents may give permission for younger students (K-3rd grade) to join an older sibling in taking the light rail.

Carpooling

Evergreen encourages carpooling! Carpooling helps families get to know each other and allows caregivers to cut down on trips to school. It also helps relieve the traffic congestion in the school vicinity and benefits our environment. Our internal directory for families supports sorting by proximity, allowing families to see who lives nearby.
