Our New Director of Enrollment Management Will Start in July
Following a national search, Evergreen Head of School Halsey Bell is happy to announce that we have hired a new director of enrollment management: Christina Clemente will start on July 1, 2021. Susan Smith, our admission director who has taken Evergreen to a whole new level since she joined the school in 2015, will then step down and is looking forward to her retirement and more time with her three young grandsons!
In a strong field of applicants, Christina stood out. She will be coming to us from the greater New York City area, where she has spent four years as the associate director of admissions at the K-12 Hackley School; she is also a boarding associate there.
Christina will bring both experience and energy in several realms to Evergreen. In her time at Hackley, ...
she helped increase the school's yield (accepted students who then choose to enroll) and envisioned, planned and executed key changes to the admissions process, including incorporating more data analysis in the process, redesigning the upper school open house format, and reworking strategies for the school's boarding program.
In addition, in 2017, Christina co-chaired a Community and Inclusivity Task Force at Hackley, leading to substantive recommendations that have served as a blueprint for the school's diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) work ever since. Prior to Hackley, she was the associate director of enrollment management at the Brooklyn Friends School, where she worked for five years. She holds a bachelor's degree from Amherst College as well as a master's degree in educational psychology from Hunter College.
We look forward to welcoming Christina to Evergreen and the Seattle area this summer!
