Head of School Halsey Bell announced today that Michelle Harrison will be the new head of Evergreen's Primary Division, which comprises preschool through 3rd grade. While new to this role, Michelle is a veteran educator of 25 years, and she's been at Evergreen for 15. She began her career here as a 5th grade teacher and has continued to take on new challenges, becoming an instructional coach and mentor to teachers, serving as self-study co-coordinator for Evergreen's reaccreditation process with NWAIS, and being a trip advisory teacher for the 8th grade global studies trip. This past summer, as chair of the Academic Task Force, Michelle was responsible for leading the development of academic plans in preparation for this unprecedented 2020-2021 school year. Since September, she has served as interim primary division head, and as the parent of a current Evergreen middle school student, she also brings the firsthand perspective of a parent as well as an educator to this role. We could not be happier to welcome Michelle as the permanent head of the Primary Division.
