First Buddy Day of the Year: Creating Connections, Virtually

Buddies are a big part of the Evergreen experience. Each younger class is paired with an older class--such as kindergarten with 6th grade--and throughout the year, on schoolwide buddy days, buddy classes get together for fun activities and projects, for shared lunch, for Field Day and more.
Through our buddy system, students who might never otherwise cross paths get to know each other and make connections. Younger students get a peek into the lives of older students, elementary-age children have a personal contact to approach with questions about middle school, pre-teens who never spend any time with five-year-olds have dedicated time to read picture books, draw together and more.
But what about this year, with only our youngest students currently on campus? Turns out, with some creativity, buddies can meet and make connections online as well! From Simon Says to Scattergories, treasure hunts and scavenger hunts, buddy groups found so many ways to get to know each other!
