Thank you for your interest in The Evergreen School. We are fully enrolled for the 2020-2021 school year. We are accepting applications for next fall (the 2021-2022 school year).
A Place Where Your Child Will Thrive
Every school has a unique mission and culture. Our goal is to help you find out if Evergreen is the place where your child will thrive. Although the application process may be new to you, we are here to support you every step of the way.
The first step is to create an online account in Ravenna, an online application system. In Ravenna, you will be able to track your application, register for events, and find necessary forms, including your parent statement and teacher evaluation forms. Numerous other Seattle-area schools also use Ravenna to streamline the process for families applying to more than one independent school.
Our application deadline is January 14, 2021. If you are unable to apply online or if paying the online application fee of $50 is a financial hardship, please contact us at email@example.com
As a school for highly capable students, we require students applying to grades K-8 to submit the results of an IQ assessment. Our goal for students is that they will be successful in our program, and we find that students who score at the 95% and above are a good match for Evergreen. All children applying for kindergarten and above need to take an IQ test. The IQ test is not required for preschool and prekindergarten applicants.
Ask your child's teacher(s) to complete a Teacher Evaluation Form (forms are accessed through the Ravenna online application system). Applicants to grades 4-8 must submit two evaluations. Please allow teachers plenty of time to complete this step.
You will also need to submit a Records Request Form to your child's school. The form is available through Ravenna.
Due to COVID-19, the Applicant Visit step will be conducted virtually. Only after all application materials have been received will you be able to self-register through Ravenna for a visit spot. Dates and times will be released no later than early 2021.
The purpose of the student visit is for us to get to know your student a little better. Activities are designed to be enjoyable, and it is our hope that it is a relaxed and enjoyable experience for them.
We are dedicated to providing a need-based financial aid program that covers tuition and non-tuition aid depending on demonstrated financial need. For the 2021-2022 school year, financial aid awards are available to students enrolling in prekindergarten through 8th grade. Applicants must submit all of the required documents by February 21, 2021 to be considered for an award of financial aid. Please visit the Financial Aid page for more information.
Due to COVID-19 and the safety of our current students and faculty, we are unable to host visitors for on-campus tours. Instead, enjoy getting to know our school through our 360° virtual tour.
Registration is through Ravenna. You will need to create an account and "Explore" The Evergreen School in order to register for a tour. (There is no obligation that you start or submit an application.) Once registered, the tour link will be emailed to you.
Please note that the Virtual Tour is asynchronous, meaning it can be done on your own time whenever it is convenient for you.
While not a required step, joining us at a virtual open house is a great opportunity to meet our faculty—including both grade-level and specialist teachers—and learn more about our school. These casual events begin with a brief presentation from our head of school followed by smaller Q&A sessions.
Registration is available through Ravenna. You must create an account in Ravenna and "Explore" The Evergreen School in order to register for an open house, but there is no obligation that you start or submit an application.
