Testing Information

IQ Testing Overview

Our mission is to serve highly capable students. As a part of the admission process, we require students applying to kindergarten through 7th grade to submit the results of an IQ test. We find that students who score at the 95th percentile and higher are successful in our program.

We are also committed to equity in identifying highly capable students and recognize that inherent bias may exist in IQ testing, particularly as it relates to students from historically marginalized groups. If you have any questions or concerns about testing, we encourage you to reach out to our Admissions team to have a conversation. 

The IQ test is not required for applicants to preschool and prekindergarten. However, it is a required step to continue into our kindergarten program.

IQ Testing Information:

• Evergreen does not administer IQ tests, but we provide a list of licensed psychologists who do. (See below.)

• Evergreen accepts the following IQ tests: WPPSI - IV  •  WISC-V  •  KABC-II* 
  Psychologists will know the appropriate test to administer based on the student's age.
  *Please note that the KABC-II is a newer test and may or may not be accepted by other independent schools that require IQ testing as part of the admission process.

• Test reports must be received directly from the administering psychologist (not forwarded from the parent/guardian). They must be submitted by Evergreen's application deadline: January 11, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. and should be sent to: [email protected].
• Note that a child cannot take the same IQ test twice in one year.
