Level Up: Grow Your Makerspace Skills Workshop for Educators

Whether you're new to project-based learning and makerspace tools or you're experienced and ready to learn more,
take your skills to the next level with us. Level up!
Join us for a three-day summer educators' workshop in the BIG Lab at The Evergreen School! Engage individually, or come with an instructional team to grow your own makerspace skills as well as your skills in developing learning opportunities for students that take advantage of makerspace concepts.

June 19-21, 2019
9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
$400, including lunch all three days
15 STEM clock hours

Come prepared to get your hands dirty with a range of tools to inspire innovation—from hobby motors and cardboard to laser cutters and microcontrollers. Learn how to incorporate both high-tech and low-tech "making" as well as design thinking into curriculum across all ages and disciplines.

While you work with Evergreen makerspace lead teachers to develop your own project to bring back to your own classroom, we will also hold "pop-up" sessions according to participants' needs. Pop-ups might include details on specific tools, PBL and design thinking pedagogy and practices, developing reflection and assessments for such learning experiences, and other topics as desired.
Teachers in all subject areas and all age ranges are welcome to register—makerspace learning is not exclusive to STEM!

The Hampton Inn & Suites at Northgate is a nearby option.

Located in the heart of our campus, the BIG Lab is the creative center of The Evergreen School. This 3,000-square-foot educational makerspace is the largest of its kind in the region. The lab provides a space where students in preschool through 8th grade can design, tinker and innovate.
