From Head of School Ronnie Codrington-Cazeau
I am often asked, “Why did you leave Los Angeles and come to Seattle?” My answer is always the same. I came for Evergreen. From the moment I stepped onto campus, warmth and welcome were extended to me. Students greeted me with smiles and questions, and parents were eager to share why they thought Evergreen was the best choice for their children. As if that weren't enough, faculty and staff happily shared why they stayed at the school and continued to enjoy their students and colleagues year after year.
So it is bittersweet for me to announce that next year, 2019-2020, will be my final year at Evergreen. I will be moving on to lead University Prep, a 6th through 12th-grade school in Seattle, in the next stage of their development.
Leaving a community like Evergreen will not be easy. That is why I am so glad to have one more year here and help ensure a smooth handover to our next head of school.
In my seven years as head, we have accomplished so much together. This work has been exciting and visionary, and we owe that to our talented faculty, staff and administrators, to our supportive community of parents and guardians, and to our talented and committed Board of Trustees.
I look forward to sharing one more school year with the Evergreen community.
With much appreciation,
Head of School
