Here are this week’s activities:

The remaining hardie siding above the entry canopy was painted this week
Downspout install is ongoing
Level 2 Terrace concrete paver install is in progress
Level 2 Plumbing trim install is nearly complete
Level 2 flooring install is completed by the elevator vestibule and Small Group area
Level 2 interior glazing install started this week
Level 2 bath hardware install is in progress
Level 1B & 1A interior glazing install is progressing
Level 1B & 1A drywall punch is ongoing
Level 1B & 1A electrical wall trim install is progressing
Level 1B & 1A bath hardware accessory install is ongoing
Level 1A light reflectors were install in the MPR and Art rooms
Finish coat sealer application in the literacy room GLB stair treads started today
Asphalt paving at the north parking lot was completed this week
The trench drain at the north parking lot entrance was poured this week
Playground install at the south site is ongoing
Site fencing at the SW corner and shoring wall is nearly complete
The fence posts for the SE site fencing were installed today.
Site grading and excavation for the south retaining wall is progressing.

Next week we will be pouring the footing for the south concrete retaining wall, installing visual display units, & installing the acoustic wall panels in the MPR room.

May 15 Update

The exterior continues to progress, but there's so much happening inside as well! Updates from our team include:

The metal roofing and solatube skylight install for covered classroom is complete.
Siding progressing around the site: install, painting.
Conduit routing and insulation install for the mechanical room was completed.
Interior work includes flooring/carpeting, ceiling trim, wall paneling, and light fixture installs.
Precast tread and landing install at the exterior steel stair started this week.
The water room buildout started this week.
Grading at the NW site is ongoing.
All electrical utility trenches were backfilled this week.

It's amazing to see the building these days!

Updates from our contractors for this past week:

Siding along the south elevation is installed and painted up to the precast stair location
Exterior aluminum sliding doors were delivered and installed.
Storage room walls insulated
Level 2 plumbing trim install ongoing
Level 2 flooring install and tile prep for bathrooms complete
Metal roofing panel nearly complete
Level 1A ceiling tile framing at the entry vestibule and reception area complete
Level 1A light install prep is ongoing and fixtures installed
The Literacy Room concrete ramp was poured this week, and exposed ceiling and trusses were painted
Entry canopy wood framing is nearly complete
The concrete sidewalks on Burke Ave were poured this week
The south site playground area was backfilled and graded this week
The FDC and water line were stubbed into the building and inspected

April 17 Update

Looking at the building from the outside, progress seems to be accelerating week to week—and there's been so much hidden progress on the inside, too!

This past week, the construction team reports:

Metal roofing panel install is progressing
All rooftop HVAC units have been set
Siding install along the east and south facades is in progress
Hardie siding along the NW façade has been painted (down to the canopy line) and scaffolding has been dismantled
The floating concrete curbs at the L2 Terrace have been poured this week
Level 2 acoustical ceiling grid framing is in progress
In various sections of the site, plumbing trim install, finish carpentry, duct work, and wood door & frame installs are in progress
Elevator install is nearly complete and in preparation for final adjustments
Demo and grading for curbs and sidewalk down Burke Avenue in progress
Survey for remaining utilities in the north parking lot and on the south side of the site is complete

March 27 Update

We have siding!

This past week, our construction team shared:

Roof insulation and vapor barrier install for the metal roof completed
Painting begun on lap siding at NW corner
Hot rubber detailing nearly completed on a terrace
Elevator install begun
East side concrete retaining walls were poured and waterproofed this week
Utility work by the SW stair has been backfilled and grading is in progress

And as previously, there is significant ongoing work in different areas of the site on soffit rough-in work and drywall install, flooring install, tile prep and install, and acoustic ceiling tile.

Progressing on the Exterior and Interior Too

So much happening on the site! Our construction team has shared these recent updates:

Roof conduit routing is nearing completion
Window install is complete, and we have passed window test inspections
Ongoing install of metal flashing at windows and exterior insulation
Metal gutter at the south eave of the metal roof is installed
Mechanical units have been set in the mechanical room
Drywall, taping, priming, and HVAC ductwork install ongoing in various areas
The electrical switchgear was delivered this week
Concrete footings for the exterior steel stair have been poured and backfilled
Prep for the literacy room concrete ramp is nearly complete!

February 20 Update

This past week's updates from our construction team:

Roof conduit routing is nearly complete.
Window wraps and install is nearly complete.
WRB install at the at the literacy room elevations is complete.
Exterior insulation install is in progress, staring at the NW corner of the building.
Wood framing at the 220 Mechanical Room is in progress.
Hot rubber install on the L2 terrace between GL 1-5 started today (Friday).
Rough-in progressing in various areas.
Hollow-metal frame install on Slab 1A has started.
Site concrete footing layout and excavation has started.

February 2 Update

Another busy couple of weeks on our construction site!

Here are updates from the team:

The TPO roof above the art, kiln, conference, and storage rooms is complete.
The wood framing for the roof above the literacy room is complete.
Window wraps and install is progressing through the south façade.
Girt installation for exterior insulation is in progress on the west and north elevations.
Parapet wall termination on parts of the south facade of the building is complete.
Elsewhere in various sectors of the site, exterior wall framing and rough-in continues.
Excavation and utility work for the SCL vault on the east side of the building is in progress

January 16 Update

It's been a busy two weeks!

Recent updates include:

installation of vapor barrier for the metal roof
hot rubber install, in progress
roof conduit install at the low roof above the art, conference, and storage rooms is complete
wood framing (ongoing)
pouring of concrete curbs
rough-ins ongoing in areas, with ductwork install starting soon
window wraps and window install is ongoing

At this stage, visible progress on the expansion increases each week. Most recently, the team:

- installed metal decking rebar and structural steel in certain areas;
- installed scaffolding in the NW corner of the building;
- ongoing rough-in and wood framing, as well as fire sprinkler rough-in, in other areas;
- window wraps are in progress in preparation for window install, coming soon.
