Preschool Happiness Day Camp
Ages 3 and 4 years old
 
Each week includes fun filled learning activities. Children will enjoy summer mornings learning new songs, making crafts, cooking, playing games, experimenting with science, and more. Allowing children to experiment and explore using a variety of materials and supplies promotes creative thinking and nurtures the imagination.
 
2008 rates ~ The cost of camp is $140.00 a week. For the week of June 30 - July 3, the cost of camp is $110.00. The hours of camp are from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. After camp care is available at an additional charge of $5.65 an hour. After camp care is offered until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This program does not offer before camp care.

June 23 - 27 ~ Creatures of the Ocean

Come on a journey under the sea. This class will explore and learn about the fascinating creatures that live in and around the ocean. We will experiment with salt water, make our own “mini oceans” and edible aquariums.

June 30 - July 3 ~ I Like Me!

Children will be celebrating and embracing all the wonderful things that make each a unique individual. We will create “All About Me” books and each child will have the opportunity to be the center of attention. At the end of the week, our circle time will include a show and tell.

July 7 - 11 ~ Happy, Healthy Bodies


Let's get cooking! We'll discuss and learn about the basic food groups and healthy eating habits. Each day the children will be cooking their own nutritious snack. We'll even create our own recipe book to take home.

July 14 - 18 ~ Animal Families of the Pacific Northwest
 

What animals live in our own backyard? We will read about and discuss the variety of animals that live in our beautiful region. The class will go on a nature walk and get up close and personal with some multi-legged, native Northwest residents.

July 21 - 25 ~ Art Exploration

Children will explore with different mediums. We'll use tempura paint, watercolor, chalk, oil pastels, sponges, glitter, stickers, and more to create beautiful works of art. A large group mural for the classroom will be created as well as individual artist portfolios.

July 28 - August 1 ~ Water Fun

Ready to get wet? We'll spend the week exploring water. Children will experiment with ice, sinking and floating, make water balloons, play at the water table, blow bubbles, and run through sprinklers. Please provide your child with a swim suit and towel each day this week.

August 4 - 8 ~ Little Authors

A week all about books! We will talk about books, read books, learn about how books are made, and share our favorite books.

August 11 - 15 ~ Science Wonders

Let's explore, estimate, and experiment! We'll act as real scientists using microscopes, test tubes, eye droppers, and scales as we learn about our natural environment.
