Ethel Waak Seedling House Child Care

The Evergreen School's Ethel Waak Seedling House welcomes your family to our child care program. We offer quality, age-appropriate care for children six weeks through three years old. We provide children with a warm, safe, and friendly environment enabling them to experience their busy days to the fullest. Our program is licensed by the Washington state Department of Social and Health Services.

The curriculum in our program is a cross between emergent and thematic. We observe the children paying close attention to what is happening in their lives. We then plan a theme around their experiences and interests. Projects that are created are process oriented. The act of creating the project is where emphasis lies, not in the completed project. Children learn while using all of their senses. Great effort is placed in planning activities and projects encouraging the children to use their senses.

Priority of enrollment goes first to The Evergreen School faculty/staff and then to younger siblings of current Evergreen students.

Location and Hours of Operation

The Ethel Waak Seedling House is located in the southeast corner of the school. Throughout a day while receiving much love and support, these children follow a schedule allowing for outdoor time, art, science, music, stories, snacks and lunch, naps, diapering and potty breaks.

Our hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tours are available.

NOTICE OF NONDISCRIMINATORY POLICY AS TO STUDENTS
