| Financial Aid General Overview Financial aid is awarded by The Evergreen School to provide financial assistance to parents and their children who, without such help, would not have the opportunity to attend the school. The Evergreen School believes that the primary responsibility for a child’s education rests with the family, to the full extent that they are able. The school is not in a position, philosophically or financially, to assume the financial obligation of a parent, stepparent, or an adult sharing the household with the enrolled student. Families must submit financial aid applications each year. Eligibility and Process Financial aid awards are available, depending on availability of funds, to children enrolled in Prekindergarten through grade 8 who have submitted all required documents by the deadlines determined by the school. A Financial Aid Committee at The Evergreen School is responsible for determining awards to families who apply for aid. Financial need is determined based on family income and net worth. The Educational Testing Service, in part, obtains this information, through the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) of the School and Student Service for Financial Aid program (SSS). Tax forms from the previous year are also required and are submitted to the Office of Admission. Please contact the Office of Admission for forms (after October 1) and for additional information. Important Financial Aid Application Deadlines January 14, 2009: the recommended deadline for PFS (SSS) forms to be received by SSS and a copy of the PFS to The Evergreen School Office of Admission in order for review and analysis within school deadlines. February 5, 2009: Deadline for 2007 Tax Forms and W-2 forms to be received by The Evergreen School Office of Admission. Applications that are completed after this date will only be considered after those received by the deadline are processed AND only if aid is still available. March 19, 2009: Financial Aid Award notifications sent to newly admitted students/families along with admission acceptance letters. |
