For the 2010/11 school year, we will be enrolling one preschool class, two Prekindergarten classes, and three Kindergarten classes. Spaces will be available in all three of those grade levels. There are limited spaces in other grades; please call the Office of Admission for more information.
Families interested in applying should begin the admission process in the fall one year prior to when you wish to enroll. Online applications will be available beginning November 1. For applicants to grade levels requiring IQ or ISEE testing, families should arrange for these tests to be administered as soon as possible. See Testing Resources for more information.
For Preschool, children must be three by June 1, 2010*. For Prekindergarten, four by September 1, 2010; and for Kindergarten, five by September 1, 2010.
*The Evergreen School may make some exceptions to the June 1 birthday cutoff for Preschool if your child meets certain criteria. That criteria includes being toilet trained, attending a structured preschool, or having a sibling presently enrolled at Evergreen. Please contact the Admisson Office to discuss whether or not your child qualifies for an exception.
Applicants to all levels visit the campus for one hour to a full day depending on the grade level for which they are applying. In addition, various supporting materials are required from parents, school, and previous teacher or caregiver (see section on application criteria). We also include a review of candidate IQ scores in our evaluations. All candidates who will be 5 or older by September 1, 2010 must submit standard IQ (intelligence quotient) test results. See Testing Resources for more information.
IQ tests are administered by a clinician and not by the school. For more information and a list of psychologists who conduct IQ tests, see Testing Resources.
For the 2010/11 school year, financial aid awards are available, depending on availability of funds, to children enrolled in Prekindergarten through Grade 8 who have submitted all required documents by the deadlines determined by the school. Please see the tuition and financial aid page for more information. Contact the Office of Admission for financial aid applications.
The Evergreen School agrees to the common admission notification dates established by the Seattle/Eastside Regional Admission Directors' Association. For the 2010/11 admission process, the notification date will be Thursday, March 18, 2010 and parent response (confirmation and deposit) is due by Monday, March 29, 2010.
Applicants who apply and meet our criteria are sometimes put into a waitpool when we simply do not have enough spaces in a particular grade. This is the only waitlist we keep. We do not have a waiting list for applications nor do we place interested families on a waitlist should they call mid-year. We will accept applications from all applicants who apply before the application deadline.
